Jessica Waters, a Senior Scholar in Residence, Justice, Law & Criminology at American University, declines to comment as Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, describes various abortion procedures.

Texas GOP Rep. Brandon Gill presses prochoice advocate on ‘favorite’ abortion method

My cmnt: Democrats have been practicing the art of holding two or more contradictory positions in their heads at the same time for nearly 200 years. Starting with slavery, discrimination, Jim Crow, segregation, racial hatred and then moving onto abortion on demand at any time during the pregnancy and now the sexual mutilation of children by supporting and encouraging males to pretend they are female and female children to pretend they can be made into men.
WASHINGTON (TNND) — Texas GOP Rep. Brandon Gill pressed a pro-choice advocate on her favorite abortion method during a House Judiciary subcommittee hearing, calling the procedures “barbaric and evil.”
The House Judiciary subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government hearing on Tuesday was focused on the Biden administration’s use of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act to prosecute pro-life demonstrators allegedly blocking entrances to abortion clinics, the Washington Times reported.
“What’s your favorite type of abortion?” Gill asked Jessica Waters, a senior scholar at the American University School of Public Affairs, according to a video the congressman posted on X.
“I’m an advocate for patients having access to the full realm of reproductive healthcare,” Waters said.
“Do you have a preferred method of abortion that you like?” Gill asked.
“I do not,” Waters said.
“The first kind is called a ‘suction abortion,’” Gill said. “This is when the cervix is dilated and a strong suction, 29 times the power of a household vacuum cleaner, tears the baby’s body apart and sucks it through the hose into a container. Do you prefer that method?”
“I stand by my former testimony,” Waters said.
“It sounds kind of gross, doesn’t it? Sounds pretty gruesome. Do you agree?” Gill asked.
“I stand by how I answered your question fully and accurately,” Waters replied.
“What about this one? This one is called dilation and curettage. After dilation of the cervix, a sharp, looped knife is inserted into the uterus, the baby’s body is cut into pieces and extracted, often by suction. Do you prefer that method?” Gill asked.
“What I believe we are here to talk about today is the FACE Act. We are not here to talk about the legality of abortion,” Waters said.
“You’re a pro-abortion advocate — I’m asking you if you prefer the dilation and curettage method,” Gill interjected.
“I am an access to reproductive healthcare advocate,” Waters said.
“You don’t want to talk about abortion itself — why is that?” Gill asked.
“I would prefer to talk about the reason the committee called the hearing,” Waters said.
“Is it because it’s uncomfortable to talk about? It should be uncomfortable,” Gill said.
fter describing the saline-injection process, Gill asked, “Do you prefer that method?”
“I would prefer to talk about the subject of the hearing,” Waters responded.
“This is the subject of the hearing. This is about protests outside of abortion clinics. I’m asking you about abortion,” Gill said.
“I stand by my prior testimony,” Waters said.
“I wouldn’t want to talk about this, either, if I were you, because it is barbaric and evil,” Gill concluded.
Rep. Shri Thanedar, D-Mich., responded to Gill’s video on X, saying, “Remember folks, Republicans are NOT the party of creepy men trying to intrude their way into women’s private business, they just want to interrogate you about your favorite abortion method at a national congressional hearing.”
Gill replied to Thanedar, writing, “Which abortion is your favorite? The one where the unborn baby’s body is crush [sic] and sucked out with a hose or the one where the baby is cut apart with a knife? Please enlighten us.”

“My favorite kind of abortion is the kind that’s safe, legal, accessible, and none of your damn business to regulate. And no amount of fearmongering by describing what goes on to a half-ounce fetus with no consciousness, self-awareness, or feeling of pain is going to change that,” Thanedar wrote in response.
My cmnt: What Rep. Shri Thanedar (D) is saying is that once the fetus is able to feel pain – which occurs as early as 6 weeks of gestation – then abortion should be outlawed as it is an acknowledged cruel and heinous act to perform on another human being. Thanedar is also acknowledging that men have no “damn business” in girls’ and women’s locker rooms or other safe places nor should men be in female sports competitions.
My cmnt: Abortion is never safe just as there is no such thing as “safe sex”. Abortion by nature, as having multiple sexual partners, cannot be made “safe”. Abortion, a completely unnatural act, always carries health risks democrats are loath to acknowledge. Dangerous, sexually transmitted diseases are at pandemic levels across America and the world. The only safe sexual acts are those between two, mutually monogamous heterosexual (i.e., married) persons.
