My cmnt: This is precisely the problem with so-called “expert” testimony. The “experts” were dead wrong about most of what they said about Covid-19 during the democrat-run fiasco by Fraud Fauci and friends that caused more harm to American children than the virus did. It doesn’t matter that ‘both sides’ experts agreed, they are both cut from the same bolt of cloth. After an appropriate period of time has passed and the murderer is pronounced cured by the experts she will be released to resume her life without consequences while her two victims remain dead and their families lives destroyed by her.
Lincoln woman who fatally ran down two men in her apartment parking lot and tried to run down a third last year will be sent to the Lincoln Regional Center, following a decision Tuesday.
Lancaster County District Judge Ryan Post previously found Taylor Bradley not responsible by reason of insanity of the murders of Ronald Gonzalez-Rivas, 45, and Christopher Karmazin, 42, and the attempted murder of Robert Sargent, now 49.
The ruling late last month prompted Tuesday’s hearing, where the prosecutor offered the same exhibits he had offered at trial to show Bradley remained dangerous to herself or others by reason of her mental illness and should be evaluated on an inpatient basis in a locked and secured part of the regional center.
She will be held at the county jail until there’s a bed available for her there, according to the order issued Tuesday afternoon.
The evaluation is expected to include Bradley’s current psychological condition, as well as how her condition led to the crime for which she was acquitted and her prognosis for change in light of available treatment.
Post ordered a treatment plan to be developed and set a hearing in August to review it.
Last month, the judge found that Bradley had been “experiencing prominent delusions, a manic episode, and psychosis,” on the afternoon of March 27, 2023, when she drove her Subaru into a grassy area near the clubhouse at The Lodge apartments, near South 40th Street and Nebraska Parkway, purposely running over the two men, who died at the scene, and trying to run down a third.
All three had worked as maintenance employees at the complex, where Bradley lived.
Post said that because of Bradley’s mental illness she didn’t know right from wrong at the time, a decision based on opinions of mental health experts on both sides.
