- “This beach is impeccably clean, and has a smooth, sandy floor. At low tide the beach is probably the widest beach ever. At high tide you can walk out hundreds of feet and still be only waist high.”

- “The sugar fine white sand is a trademark of this fabulous beach. Perfect for a day in the sun. You might even spot a dolphin or two playing on the horizon.”

Counting only the contiguous United States bordered by the Great Lakes, Atlantic, and Pacific, there are 60 000 miles of coast to divide between 300 million people for a total of 5 000 people per beach mile or roughly one per foot if everyone jammed at the coast. In this sense the US is something like population-trade critical. Many places on earth have either far fewer coast miles per capita or far fewer capits per possible trade port.
