Alex Berenson: Puts Covid-19 into perspective

I ordered and rcv’d Berenson’s booklet “Unreported Truths about COVID-19 and Lockdowns. He is a former New York Times reporter who left there because of his principled refusal to simply parrot the company line on anything political.

He was one of the first in the national media to note something any of us who were paying attention could plainly see: Covid-19 is NOT a threat to most people. It, like the flu (no, I did not say it is a strain of the flu), is mostly dangerous to the already sick, the very elderly and those with compromised immune systems. Unlike the flu – Covid-19 is NOT dangerous to the very young (those 18 yrs old and under). This is a very important statistical fact.

Closing the schools did not spare children from getting C-19 but it DID positively HARM them in many ways. Of course dems don’t really care about any group of people (i.e., women, children, blacks, illegal immigrants, LGBTQwerty (I’m probably not up on the latest letters to be added to this acronym)) they pretend to care about. They don’t care that powerful democrats (i.e., JFK, RFK, EMK (Teddy Kennedy), Bill Clinton and on and on) sexually (and in general) abusing women, children being denied an education and all the other benefits of being in school, the hopelessness of inner city black people, etc.

Alex Berenson: Rise in coronavirus cases ‘means very little’ if hundreds of thousands are unknowingly infected

Ex-New York Times reporter suggests more people are ‘being hospitalized with COVID rather than from COVID’

By Charles Creitz | Fox News – July 3, 2020

Former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson told “The Story” Friday that the ongoing rise in coronavirus hospitalizations in parts of the country suggests that either doctors are treating the virus more effectively — or more people are being hospitalized “with” the virus rather than because of it.

“There’s definitely been community growth in the transmission of the virus,” he told host Jon Scott. “There’s been spread in the Sun Belt states in the last month, nobody could dispute that. It’s also true that if we tested everybody on the same day, we have a massive number.”

Berenson noted a study out of North Carolina which found that nearly 15 percent of residents there have coronavirus antibodies.

“We still haven’t done that on the national scale so we truly don’t know how many people have already gotten this,” he said. “What I’m saying to you, what I’m saying to everyone, this rise from 20,000 positive tests to 50,000 positive tests, essentially means very little if we know there are hundreds of thousands of people nationally infected with this.”

Berenson emphasized one of the most important figures in any set of coronavirus data is the hospitalization rate, not the positivity rate.

At some point, we have to acknowledge that the virus — either doctors are treating it better, or there’s a lot of people who are being hospitalized with COVID rather than from COVID,” he said. “Because community spread is so wide, you’re going into the hospital for some elected procedure and they’re testing for COVID and finding it.

“Or it’s possible, and there’s scientific speculation about this, I wouldn’t say it’s confirmed by any means, the virus is actually becoming less virulent.”
