“Snow White” actress Rachel Zegler apologized after facing a backlash for attacking Trump voters following the reelection of President-elect Donald Trump.
“Hi everyone, I would like to sincerely apologize for the election post I shared on my Instagram last week,” the 23-year-old actress wrote on Thursday on her Instagram Story, amid calls to boycott the upcoming Disney film, the New York Post reported.
“I let my emotions get the best of me,” she added. “Hatred and anger have caused us to move further and further away from peace and understanding, and I am sorry I contributed to the negative discourse.”
“This week has been emotional for so many of us but I firmly believe that everyone has the right to their opinion, even when it differs from my own,” Zegler continued. “I am committed to contributing positively toward a better tomorrow.”

In a series of posts that were screenshotted from her Instagram Stories, Zegler wrote, “may Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace,” calling it “absolutely terrifying the number of people who stand behind” Trump.
“I shouldn’t be this shocked, but I am,” she added. “I am heartbroken for my friends who awoke fear this morning … this loss should not have been by so many votes.”
“I echo Ethel Cain’s statement more than anything, may Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace,” the actress continued. “It is a foolish subscription to a false sense of security, of masculinity, of intelligence, of patriotism, and of humanity. There is no help, no counsel in any of them.”
She then called on people to get off Elon Musk’s app X because he “helped get that man [Trump] elected and you’re giving him business.” Zelger closed out her rant by calling on her followers to focus now on their Democrat Governors and then wrote, “F*** Donald Trump.”
Zegler, a vocal left-wing activist, made headlines last year when she faced a backlash over her feminist complaints about the 1937 animated film “Snow White” following news about her taking on the lead role in the remake of the classic Disney film.
Months later in an interview for Variety with fellow Disney actress Halle Bailey, Zegler appeared to sing a different tune when she gushed over the original “Snow White” as “a monumental moment in film history,” and said she “loves everything the Disney company has put out” since its inception.
Zegler previously slammed the original story, describing the prince as a “stalker” and made it clear the live-action story she was part of would have nothing in common with the “weird” original 1937 love story.

‘Snow White’ Producer’s Son Destroys Rachel Zegler Amid Film’s Box Office Struggles
“And her actions clearly hurt the film’s box office,” the Hollywood producer’s son wrote.

“Snow White” producer Marc Platt’s son, Jonah Platt, called actress Rachel Zegler “immature” and more amid the film’s struggles at the box office.
After some online attacked Marc Platt, calling him “creepy as hell” following a report about the producer trying to rein in the young actress’ controversial comments, Jonah Platt slammed Zegler in a post that has since been deleted.
“You really want to do this?” Platt’s son wrote. “Yeah, my dad, the producer of enormous piece of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on the line, had to leave his family to fly across the country to reprimand his 20 year old employee for dragging her personal politics into the middle of promoting the movie for which she signed a multi-million dollar contract to get paid and do publicity for.”
“This is called adult responsibility and accountability,” he added. “And her actions clearly hurt the film’s box office. Free speech does not mean you’re allowed to say whatever you want in your private employment without repercussions.”

“Tens of thousands of people worked on that film and she hijacked the conversation for her own immature desires at the risk of all the colleagues and crew and blue collar workers who depend on that movie to be successful,” Jonah continued. “Narcissism is not something to be coddled or encouraged.”
The live-action remake of Disney’s 1937 animated classic had its worst-ever opening weekend for a classic remake and will likely come nowhere close to recouping its massive $270 million production budget, as previously reported. The film brought in just $43 million domestically, which was on par with major studio flop “Dumbo” (2019), which made $46 million during its debut.
The vocal left-wing activist has made headlines numerous times leading up to the film’s release. First when she faced backlash after she slammed the original story, describing the prince as a “stalker” and made it clear the live-action story she was part of would have nothing in common with the “weird” original 1937 love story.
Months later in an interview for Variety with fellow Disney actress Halle Bailey, Zegler appeared to sing a different tune when she gushed over the original “Snow White” as “a monumental moment in film history,” and said she “loves everything the Disney company has put out” since its inception.
In November, Zegler had to issue an apology after attacking Trump voters following a rant on social media about the election results.
“Hi everyone, I would like to sincerely apologize for the election post I shared on my Instagram last week,” Zegler wrote amid calls to boycott the upcoming Disney film, the New York Post reported.
Readers’ comments:
Ziegler shares a large amount of the blame here, but it’s not all on her. Disney is a ruinous machine top-to-bottom. Any IP they touch turns to ashes these days. The company is beyond saving at this point. Film, in fact, is a dead medium. TV Shows will linger on, but features film blockbusters have had their day. The theater is a rotary phone at this point.
Ziegler’s eyes are way too far apart. Gives me the creeps.
Does his dad at least take responsibility for the bad script, plot line changes, and bowing to Peter Dinklage’s baby tantrum that resulted in the seven dwarves becoming seven human-sized mythical creatures, then CGI’d dwarves? Or was that Ziegler’s fault, too? She has plenty of blame for running her mouth, but she didn’t single-handedly ruin this live action remake.
They knew who they hired.
This sounds like a man looking for a scapegoat to protect his dad’s shortcomings. As dumb as Ziegler is, she was responsible for a fraction of the many bad decisions plaguing this film.
Sorry Jonah, this was a colossal failure with or without her.
Maybe his dad (the producer) could have spoken up about how people may react to some of the insane ideas that made it in the film.
Like how it was a bad idea to use a crew of full size diversity cast members instead of dwarves… or change the themes about waiting for a prince to rescue her to not needing anyone, etc.
He was responding directly to someone who said his dad was creepy for reprimanding RZ for dragging politics into the interviews for the movie.
