Enrique Tarrio was convicted of seditious conspiracy though he was not in D.C. at the time of the breach.

Enrique Tarrio, the former Proud Boys leader who was facing decades behind bars, spoke out on Tuesday, after President Donald Trump pardoned him and nearly all other J6 defendants hours into Trump’s second term.
Tarrio was prosecuted by the Biden DOJ and convicted of the rare and serious charge of seditious conspiracy for supposed J6 involvement, though he was not even in Washington, D.C., on the day of the breach. In 2023, Tarrio was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
“As my first tweet I have to give thanks to the many people that made this happen, my life was given back to me after their persistence and resilience,” he posted on X. “They didn’t do it for any other reason than love for me and this amazing country we live in.”
“I want to thank God, because through Him ALL things are possible,” Tarrio said. “In Exodus Chapter 15, Verse 3, it describes God as a Man of War. He certainly showed that with us and through His guidance of President Trump. To Him all the glory!”
Tarrio was released from prison last week and met up with his family in Miami wearing a black “Make America Great Again” hat.
“I’m just happy that Trump kept his promises,” Tarrio told the press after he landed at Miami International Airport. “If we would have gotten a fair trial, I wouldn’t have been in a position where I needed a pardon.”
Since Tarrio was not in D.C. at the time of the breach, the government argued that he was a leader and not a foot soldier, calling him “intelligent, charming, creative, and articulate,” and claiming that he used those talents to “inflame and radicalize an untold number of followers.”
The government relied heavily on private communication from J6 defendants to try to make their case. Notably, the DOJ highlighted a document outlining a Capitol takeover that was sent to Tarrio on social media platform Telegram called “1776 Returns,” though Tarrio did not directly respond to the sent document and claims he never even saw it, let alone opened it.
Tarrio’s first post on X also thanked his family, specifically his mother Zuny Tarrio, whom he called a “warrior,” his fiancée, and many others, including fellow J6 defendants.
Tarrio called Zachary Rehl and Ethan Nordean his “brothers” and thanked them for standing “their ground in the face of decades in prison.” Rehl and Nordean were also convicted of the rare seditious conspiracy charge. Tarrio noted that Rehl missed the birth if his daughter “because of the wicked DOJ.”
“A special place is reserved for Joe Biggs, who is currently STILL under restrictions because of a corrupt probation office that is defying the ORDERS from [Presidnet Donald Trump],” Tarrio said. Biggs, too, was convicted of sedition conspiracy. “He is not able to talk to us or use the internet. He cannot give interviews about his harrowing treatment at the hands of the [Federal Bureau of Prisons]. Joe is not new to being an American Hero. He is a two-time Purple Heart recipient and has served his country faithfully.”

As my first tweet I have to give thanks to the many people that made this happen, my life was given back to me after their persistence and resilience. They didn’t do it for any other reason than love for me and this amazing country we live in. First, I want to thank God because through Him ALL things are possible. In Exodus Chapter 15, Verse 3, it describes God as a Man of War. He certainly showed that with us and through His guidance of President Trump. To Him all the glory! Second, I would like to thank my family, starting with my beautiful mom,
@ZunyTarrio. She is a warrior and fought for me harder than anyone. There was no bigger advocate, no one that has fought harder, and no one who suffered more for my release. From our family to yours…THANK YOU! And thank you Mom! I LOVE YOU! My woman, who has remained the beacon of light through these turbulent times, was sent by God as my Guardian Angel. She has maintained our home and has given me and my family strength. She deserves the world and beyond, and I intend on giving it to her. I Love You, my Queen. Third, my Brothers, who stood their ground in the face of decades in prison.
@ENordean for his courageous leadership on the ground that day.
@ZachRehl, who, because of the wicked
@DOJ, could not see the birth of his beautiful daughter. Now, because of his bravery and YOU ALL’S support, he has been able to have tea time with his daughter and enjoy his family. Please help him here: https://givesendgo.com/savejoebiggs To Dom Pezzola, to a man with the biggest set of BRASS BALLS I’ve ever seen on a human being. I met Dom for the first time at trial and was instantly in love (no homo). Although he had never met any of us before, the man showed a level of fortitude and loyalty that rivals, and I’d say surpasses, that of some of the founding patriots. Support Dom here: https://givesendgo.com/helpdom To the J6 heroes and warriors who have been reunited with their families, thank you for your patriotism and your support for our President,
@POTUS. Your actions that day were an act of love of country and genuine concern for OUR future, the future of Western Civilization. To the Richie family, whose support for my family and the families of my Brothers helped pave the way for us to be able to defend ourselves against the tyrannical Biden regime, we thank you. We love you, and we have made a friendship that will last forever.
@PoppaLayman To Suzzanne Monk,
@Trumpertarian, who has been relentless in her support for The Boys and the J6 community. She has made THE difference in all our lives. Thank you to the Den Mom! Cheers! To the amazing Cara Castronuova,
@caracastronuova, whose accurate and relentless coverage of our plight has opened the eyes of many. Beyond being the #1 journalist, she is also a friend who has given me her ear through the roughest of times. I will be forever grateful for you in my life, my friend. I love you, and I am proud to call you my Sister. To Jim,
@GatewayPundit, for his search for the truth. I know you’ve been through a lot for covering what many outlets refused to. I look forward to working with you and meeting you. Thank you so much. The President will get his own tweet shortly. There are many others who deserve praise for their efforts in giving us our lives back, and I will be expanding this thread to include those, so… STAND BACK AND STAND BY! I Love You all…
