02/18/2024 From Psalm 111
God calls us to worship thru Jesus Christ, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Praise the LORD!
1I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart,
in the company of the upright, in the congregation.
2Great are the works of the LORD,
studied by all who delight in them.
3Full of splendor and majesty is his work,
and his righteousness endures forever.
4He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered;
the LORD is gracious and merciful.
5He provides food for those who fear him;
he remembers his covenant forever.
Now let us sing praise together to our Great God. (a song of praise is sung)
Let us pray.
O God we praise you and we acknowledge that you are the Lord. So let all the earth worship you. Father Everlasting, your Son, the Holy Spirit – To thee all the angels cry aloud, the heavens, and all the powers, the Cherubim, the Seraphim continually cry, Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts heaven and earth are full of the majesty of your glory. There is none like you among the gods O Lord, there are no works anywhere like yours. All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you O Lord and they shall glorify your name for you are great and you do wondrous things. Before the mountains were brought forth or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from Everlasting to Everlasting you are God. You O Lord are most high over all the earth, you are exalted far above all gods, you preserve the lives of the saints and you deliver them from the hands of the wicked. You’ve been faithful to us in the promises of the Gospel, the promises you made to Abraham our father, the promises you made to David our King, the promises that you have made have come true thru Jesus Christ your Son our Savior. In Christ you have blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the Heavenly Places. You chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world so that we might be holy and blameless before you. You predestined us for adoption as sons thru Jesus Christ. You’ve given us redemption thru his blood and the forgiveness of our trespasses, you’ve given us an inheritance and predestined us and sealed us with your promised Holy Spirit. May you give us today that spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ. Let the eyes of our hearts be enlightened so that we may know the hope to which you have called us, the riches of your glorious inheritance in the saints. We pray this not only for those here at Zion but for all the churches of God that name the name of Christ.
10/03/21 Walking to the highest mountain
O God, we come before you in the name of Jesus your Son our Savior. We confess his goodness, his glory and his grace. We acknowledge that you are the Lord and that all the earth worships you. You are the Father everlasting, to thee all the angels cry aloud, the heavens and the all the powers therein. The Cherubim, the Seraphim continually cry, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Hosts. Heaven and Earth all full of the majesty of thy glory. You are the one who made the Heavens and the Earth. You made the sea and all that is in them. You keep faith forever, you execute justice for the oppressed, you give food to the hungry, you set the prisoners free. You open the eyes of the blind, you lift up those who are bowed down, you love the righteous, you watch over the sojourner, you uphold the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked you bring to ruin. You have given promises to mankind thru Christ our Savior. You promised Abraham that in his seed all the world should be blessed. And now that seed, Jesus Christ our Savior; He has come and brought blessing to the whole world; Let his Gospel fill the earth as the waters cover the seas, the Good News that Christ has come and died on the cross for our sins, you have blessed us in him, given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, you chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world so that we could be holy, we could be blameless before you, you’ve predestined us, you’ve given us redemption thru Christ’s blood, the forgiveness of our transgressions, you have given us an inheritance and sealed it with your promised Holy Spirit. So now we ask you to visit us with your Spirit today, that He may move among us and give us the revelation of the knowledge of Christ, let the eyes of our hearts be enlightened so that we may know the hope to which we’ve been called in Christ. We pray all of this not only for our own congregation here at Zion but for all the churches of God that name the name of Christ and hope in His cross.
12/03/22 Called to be like Him
Glory be to God on high. O God you are gracious and merciful, you are slow to anger, you are abounding in stedfast love, you are good to all, your mercy is over all that you have made, you open your hand and you satisfy the desire of every living thing, you are righteous in all your ways and kind in all your works. You are near to all who call on you, and you fulfill the desire of those who fear you. You hear their cry and you save them. You preserve all who love you. Your way O God is holy. What God is great like our God? You are the God who works wonders, you’ve made known your might among the people, and with your arm you redeem your people, you build up Jerusalem, you heal the broken hearted, you bind up their wounds, you determine the number of the stars and give them their names. Great is our God and greatly to be praised. You have been kind and faithful to us in all your promises thru Christ, your Son, our Savior. You raised Him from the dead and seated Him at your right hand in heavenly places, far above all rule, and authority, power and dominion, above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age to come. You have put all things under the feet of Jesus and you gave Him as Head over all things, the church His body. The fullness of Him who fills all in all. We who are by nature children of wrath like the rest of mankind, when we were dead in our trespasses and sins you made us alive together with Christ, by grace you have saved us. So give us today the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ, let the eyes of our heart be enlightened, may we know the hope to which you have called us, the riches of your glorious inheritance in the saints. We pray this not only for our congregation here at Zion but for all the churches of God that name the name of Christ and hope in His cross.
The Psalmist prays, he says a broken and contrite heart, O God, thou will not despise. We bring our broken hearts, our sorrow, our repentance to God each week and now.
